The all NEW Seiko Astron 5X. The Astron series<\/a> has been one of the most popular collections for Seiko watches<\/a> since its introduction to the brand back in 2012. Astron<\/a> has been able to prove itself to hundreds and thousands of watch lovers in its six years of existence, perfect for world travelers and watch collectors. The ideal balance of practical, real world, application, with Seiko’s GPS Solar technology and the unique nature of the Astron design, has formed an irresistible combination. Throughout its six years, the Astron series has developed and changed hugely, with Chronograph, Dual-Time, World-Time, and Big-Date versions all available now!<\/p>\n

Now, a brand new edition of the Astron has been launched. The Caliber 5X, offering the most advanced functionality ever, a new chapter in the history of Seiko Astron GPS Solar technology. The New Seiko Astron 5X series is the worlds smallest and thinnest GPS Solar watch! At just 42.9mm in diameter and 12.2mm in depth, this is a very impressively sized watch for all of the technology included inside!<\/p>\n

In order to enhance the speed and quality of the watches GPS connection, every component inside the GPS module had been re-designed. Re-designing every component in a module of this style is no small feat, a huge amount of research and development has been undertaken by the technicians at Seiko in order to make these incremental improvements.<\/p>\n

The operation of the\u00a0Seiko Astron 5X caliber is also faster and more intuitive than ever. This means that now, only three seconds are needed to advance 14 hours from Tokyo to New York time, all thanks to the new system that moves hour, minute, and seconds hands independently. New functions on this watch also allow automatic adjustment to Daylight Saving Time (DST) and gives you the ability to switch\u00a0the main dial instantly from home to local time and vice versa.<\/p>\n

The comfort of this refined case size on the wrist is even further enhanced by the new buckle system used. This allows the wearer to make minor adjustment to the sizing of the bracelet, so perfect for times when temperature or other changes make the wrist expand or contract.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The new Astron 5X design is refined and luxury, yet striking as ever. A three dimensional dial stands out, along side its bold hands, and sharp lines. The manufacturers crafting these watches used a fantastic Zaratsu polishing technique, which is the only way to achieve the finish that the 5X has, with its distortion free surfaces! The design, as always is instantly recognizable as a member of the Astron family, and the perfection in every detail speaks volumes for the care taken by Seiko at every stage of manufacture .<\/p>\n

Four new models from the 5X caliber are set to be released this December, including one Limited Edition piece. Only 2,000 available, this has been inspired by the remarkable astronomical phenomenon of the supernova, a star that, at the end of its life, explodes and releases vast amounts of energy. In addition to these first four pieces, two further 5X’s will be released in February 2019, each with a bezel using sapphire crystal and ceramic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
