There is an abundance of high-tech, smart, adventure watches out there on the market now, but what if you don’t have one of these and you find yourself in a less than fortunate situation? We look at 5 different watch survival tips to help you put your standard wristwatch to good use in a survival situation.<\/p>\n

We have seen the likes of Bear Grylls<\/a> use these before, and some are a lot more simple than others, but all are good to know! With some watches these days like Victorinox<\/a> and the I.N.O.X<\/a> collection, are geared towards these situations, with the strap even being made for paracord just in case! We have also seen the new Casio Rangeman<\/a> released recently, which if you are looking to be prepared for any situation, this is the watch for you, read all about it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ball watches<\/a> recently teamed up with explorer\/expeditioner Ash Dykes<\/a>, to support him as he set out to walk the\u00a0Yangtze. A\u00a04,000 mile journey, beginning in the freezing temperatures of the Jianggendiru Glacier on the Tibetan Plateau, to the tropical delta near Shanghai. However, without all of these new fancy features, you can be left in the dark, not knowing where to begin. It is important to be able to gain your bearings as soon as possible so that you can find the best direction to move in, which is why it is great to know how to turn your watch in to a compass or a sundial.<\/p>\n
