When did pastel come into fashion? Pastel has been around for centuries dating right back to the renaissance when Leonardo De Vinci used the chalky substance in his well-known paintings. It only came in to fashion in terms of clothes in the mid 18th century when those in the higher classes of society deemed it as the height of fashion. Pastel clothing revisited the height of fashion again in the 1920’s and 30’s and since then the trend hasn’t looked back.<\/p>\n
