Today, Longines has launched its all-new Spirit Zulu Time GMT watches! Designed for travellers and watch enthusiasts alike, these latest models build on the brand’s rich history of pioneering multi-time zone watches, first introduced in 1925. With upgraded materials, refined details, and enhanced functionality, the new Spirit Zulu Time GMT watches deliver both elegance and utility; proving that Longines continues to soar at the intersection of tradition and innovation. In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at the features of these new watches and what makes them truly special. Let’s dive in!
Core Features of the All-New Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT Watches
While the colour and some materials of the watches differ, the design elements remain consistent across the entire launch. Beneath the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, with several layers of anti-reflective coating on both sides, each watch features a dial with a sleek and streamlined look. Applied Arabic numerals and luminous hands enhance visibility, while the date aperture at 6 o’clock adds both function and flair. Each dial also features a GMT hand, which allows the wearer to track a second time zone. Framing each dial is a stainless steel case, a bidirectional rotating bezel and a screw-in crown. Not only do these details enhance the practicality of the watches, but they also add to the aviation-inspired design.
Within each case lies a Longines L844 calibre automatic movement. With a monocrystalline silicon balance-spring and a 72-hour power reserve, it ensures reliable and precise timekeeping. The design of these new models concludes with a stainless steel bracelet. Moreover, each watch is water-resistant up to 100 metres, making it suitable for daily wear and special occasions alike.
The All-New Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT Watches
Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT Automatic (39mm) Anthracite Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet
This Longines watch stands out with its refined, understated elegance. The anthracite dial showcases applied Arabic numerals and gilt hour, minute, and second hands, along with a date window at 6 o’clock. Adding to its functionality is a black and gold-tipped GMT hand; a nod to Longines’ heritage of innovation and exploration. For enhanced readability in low-light conditions, the hands and numerals are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova. The watch is housed in a robust 39mm stainless steel case and features a bidirectional rotating bezel with a matte blue ceramic insert, providing a subtle contrast to the dial’s deep hues. At its heart is the reliable Longines L844.4 automatic movement, delivering precise timekeeping. Completing the sophisticated design is a stainless steel bracelet, secured with a double safety folding clasp for optimal comfort and security.
Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 GMT Automatic (39mm) Black Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet + Black NATO Strap
This Longines timepiece celebrates 100 years since the launch of the first dual-time wristwatch. Its matte black dial features applied Arabic numerals and elegant pink hour, minute, and second hands as well as a date display at 6 o’clock. But the standout feature is its GMT hand, adding both functionality and flair to the design. Swiss Super-LumiNova enhances visibility in the dark, coating both the hands and numerals. The watch is encased in a 39mm stainless steel case and framed by a bidirectional rotating bezel, enriched with an 18k pink gold cap 200 insert that contrasts beautifully against the black dial. Longines’ L844.4 automatic movement powers this watch, and for an added touch, the wearer can view it through the exhibition case back. A stainless steel bracelet concludes the design of the watch. However, it also has an additional black NATO strap, offering a versatile and sporty alternative.
