Seiko to provide measurement services for World Para Athletics Championship

Organisers of the World Para Athletics Championship have confirmed that Seiko has been appointed to provide timing and measurement services for the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championship this summer. The event will start on the 14th July and will run until 23rd July hosting a range of spectacular events and will be available for you to live stream All 54 hours of coverage from World Para Athletics Championships with an interpreter to aid with hearing impaired athletic fans.

Seiko is providing the event with specifically designed athletics timing and measurement equipment including start information, video distance measurement, transponder timing systems and in-field scoreboards at the London Stadium.

Seiko has been at the forefront of the sporting world for over half a century helping to provide timing technology and equipment to many international events, including Commonwealth, Asian, Olympic and Paralympic Games. Since 1985, Seiko has been the choice of the IAAF for its major championships and has timed all fourteen World Athletics Championships since 1987.

The World Para Athletics Championships will kick off the Summer of World Athletics at the London Stadium at the spectacular Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with 16 sessions of world-class competition set across ten days.

The World Para Athletics Championships run from 14-23 July at the London Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with the IAAF World Championships following at the same venue from 4-13 August to mark the biggest sporting event of the year.

The biggest event to be staged at the London Stadium since the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games – it is the first time both Championships have been held in the same city with over 3,000 athletes from over 200 nations competing over 20 days of action. Tickets are now on sale here.
