Seiko Astron GPS

The world’s first GPS solar watch

By connecting to Seikos’ GPS network, the new Seiko Astron GPS adjusts at the touch of a button to your specified time zone* It never needs a battery as it takes any energy it needs from light as is it solar powered, therefore it charges a lithium capacitor.

If you would like information about the time zone functionality and usage for your calibre click here. If there are changes in the region/time zone, manual time zone selection may be required.

Seiko Astron GPS

Automatic Time adjustment

At any time that the dial of the new Seiko Astron GPS is exposed to a bright light source, the watch will automatically receive a GPS signal. Please note that when the watch is concealed or hidden under a sleeve or other object the dial will not be able to receive enough light, the watch stores the time of the last manual time adjustment or time zone adjustment that was performed successfully, it then automatically starts time adjustment at the same time.

Seiko Astron GPS

High reception performance of an exclusive Seiko ring antenna

An exclusive Seiko ring antenna which has been placed under the dial ring is suitable for automatic reception as it can easily receive signals regardless of posture. Please note the same applies as above, it needs to be able to take in light from any source to be able to work and successfully send out a signal reception.

Seiko Astron GPS

In- flight mode

To comply with air safety standards and in order to avoid any interference with the operation of electronic devices in an aeroplane, in-flight mode is available for boarding and flying in a plane. Please note that whilst in this mode the GPS signal reception function will not work.
