Steve Jobs Seiko Watch

Seiko and Nano Universe have come together to recreate a series of watches from a single Seiko that Steve Jobs Apples CEO use to wear. The model in question is the 80s-era Seiko wristwatch pictured below.

Steve Jobs was an inventor, industrial designer and business man of America. Born on February 24, 1955 he became one of the most well known names around the world with a brand the appears in almost every home and business in the world. He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple and also the majority share holder in Pixar. Steve Wozniak and Steven Jobs are widely known as the microcomputer revolutionaries of the 1970s and 1980s.

In October 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with cancer and he announced to his staff that he had a tumour in 2014 and on January 17, 2011, a year and a half after Jobs returned to work after the liver transplant however then took leave due to health issues. He sadly passed away on the 5th October 2011 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

His Seiko Watch was auctioned for a staggering $42,500 at its last auction. The sale was part of an auction that included several other pieces of Steve Jobs memorabilia, authenticated by his long-time house manager, Mr. Mark Sheff.

To pay homage to him Seiko and Nano Universe set about making a series of watches in the same style as that of his original Seiko watch.

The Seiko watches have remained true to the original as much as possible and are quartz powered. The collection is of course a limited run—the white dialled variants to 1,982 and the black 300 units each as the white was the original. Retail is 20,000 yen which as of this very moment is £141.80.
